Technical Sales

Job Role and Responsibilities

The Technical Sales Professional is the first-point of interaction with the customer and often obtains a realistic perspective of the client’s situation. Some of the typical functions of this role include:

  • Act as an evangelist for the company and our offerings, actively recruiting new customers and partners.
  • Helping to manage efforts that support and drive sales activities
  • Maintaining a sales quota
  • Developing and implementing innovative sales strategies
  • Development of integrated and profitable solution-based sales
  • Management of all aspects of the customer relationship and accounts (including billing)
  • Responsibility for overall satisfaction of clients
  • Responds to complex RFP’s, writes proposals, develops, negotiates and presents contracts
  • Guides the delivery team with respect to industry trends and pre-sales activities
  • Developing and fostering long-term relationships with new and existing clients
  • Helps establish sales team mandates, objectives and responsibilities
  • Help build external partnership agreements
  • Prompt resolution of customer problems
  • Financial follow-up on project-related investments and expenditures
  • Develop and implement account planning strategies for top opportunities
  • Participation in tradeshows and seminars
  • Manage and produce sales centric reports

Key Qualifications

  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills
  • Ability to self manage and produce content for RFP responses
  • Exceptional business direction
  • Highly polished presentation skills for managing customer relations at the executive level
  • At least (3) three years of IT services sales experience
  • Experience in providing customers with an end-to-end experience
  • Solid knowledge of doing business with all levels of municipal, provincial and federal governments
  • Experience in managing the sales cycle, including the steps involved in prospecting, qualifying, recommending and implementing complex solutions
  • Strong communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop business relationships across all levels of an organization
  • Strong Analytical and Problem Solving skills
  • Strong customer focus and understanding of Business Value Add
  • Display of honesty, integrity and ethical conduct at all times
  • Ability to travel

Additional Recommended Qualifications

  • Post Secondary Degree (Business Administration)
  • Knowledge of Infotech’s existing and emerging solutions (Information Worker, .NET)
  • Familiarity and experience with SharePoint and Content Management systems
