Systems Analyst

Job Role and Responsibilities

The System Analyst plays a key-role in Infotech project teams. Some of the typical functions of the System Analyst at Infotech include:

  • Responsible to provide service work onsite for clients
  • Responsible for Microsoft update, virus protection and other security measures
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, document, and resolve technical issues surrounding Windows XP Professional, Windows Vista, Windows 2003 Server, Windows 2008 Server, MS Office, MS Exchange (an asset), Internet connections, and hardware/peripherals
  • Responsible for providing specialized technical support for all aspects of network services (LAN/WAN)
  • Ensure the integrity of data and backup systems
  • Developing and implementing innovative service strategies adapted to the client’s complex needs
  • Deal effectively and be able to cope successfully with conflicting and changing objectives
  • Help respond to complex RFPs, RFIs and RFQs
  • Help the team with respect to pre-sales, developing and structuring solutions and proposing and selling these solutions
  • Responsible for domain renewals, website creation and troubleshooting
  • Help establish his/her team members’ mandates, objectives and responsibilities
  • Guide the team toward achieving or surpassing established objectives by assisting team members in recommending winning solutions or preparing bids
  • Ensures prompt resolution of customer problems and inquiries
  • Take responsibility for financial follow-up on project-related investments and expenditures

Key Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in similar role
  • Experience scripting - batch files or vb scripts
  • Degree or diploma in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
  • Experience with Apache/IIS and domain hosting
  • Work experience with Windows 2003/2008, Active Directory, Exchange 2003/2007, all Windows desktop operating systems and MS Office
  • Experience with DNS, DHCP, IIS 5.0/6.0, TCP/IP
  • Knowledge of hardware, Servers, PC’s, Printers, Laptops, RAID setup
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop business relationships across all levels of an organization
  • Strong Analytical and Problem Solving skills
  • Strong customer focus and understanding of Business Value Add
  • Comprehensive knowledge in diagnosing, rebuilding and repairing all types of Computer hardware (Dell PC/Laptop, PowerEdge and IBM xSeries Servers, Cisco/Dell Switches, Printers and Asterisk PBX).

Additional Recommended Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Infotech’s existing and emerging solutions (Information Worker, .NET)
  • Familiarity and experience with Content Management systems ( familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint preferred)
  • A+ hardware cert (or hardware experience)
  • LINUX knowledge and experience
  • Project and team management experience
